I live in the port city of Wilmington, North Carolina where I enjoy quick access to various beaches, lakes and critter filled swamps.
Nature and it’s relationship with humankind has always been my main inspiration .The stories they weave are illustrated in a variety of approaches I have accumulated over the years using a variety of mediums including oils, ink, watercolor and acrylics.
Over the past few years I have embraced painting from life using sumi brush ink and watercolor as my primary medium followed by oils.
Recent personal projects include a series of paintings based on road trips my wife and I take in our truck camper as well as a series of small oil paintings based on old family photos primarily from the 1930s-1960s.
I am currently in the process of updating my children’s portfolio. In the meantime you can find further samples at www.markweberart.com or by contacting me directly.
.
Some folks I have worked with over the years include :
The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Houghton Mifflin, Penguin Putnam, The International Herald Tribune, Townsend Press, Rolling Stone, Playboy, The Washington Post, Wilma Magazine, Cicada, Arthur Levine Books, Scholastic, LA Times Syndicate, American Eagle, Saucony Shoes, Bell Atlantic, NPR and The Chicago Tribune to name a few.
When not drawing or painting I can be found playing guitar, hanging out with the family and friends and trying to fulfill my domestic responsibilities as best I can.
